Today I’m introducing you to the Portuguese/American composer and piano player Bernie Rosa, based in Brooklyn NY. Bernie started playing the piano at the age of six and started writing own music about 12 years ago.
The track Thank you (for coming home) was released as a single on the 11th of march, 2022.
Tell us something about your track Thank you (for coming home)!
I got married a few years ago and wrote ‘Thank you (for coming home)’ soon afterwards. This piece expresses the generosity, patience and commitment of married life. The title is a reference to the very beginning of John Cassavetes’ film ‘Opening Night’ in which a concerned husband, powerlessly witnessing his wife’s mental breakdown in the midst of a midlife crisis, simply thanks her for returning home that night as a pure gesture of selflessness and compassion. This scene inspired me to write a piece that demonstrates that same care and devotion through a melody that envelops the listener in a comforting and warm embrace.
Thank you very much Bernie for sharing this with us!
