Today I’m presenting you with the track Runa bu the Norwegian composer and piano player Øystein Skar. Øystein started playing classical piano at the age of six and later went on to study jazz piano an improvisation. He has worked as an artist for the past 20 years. His upcoming album will be his first using his own name!
The track Runa was released as a single on the 14th of march, 2025, but will also be part of an album in May.
Tell us something about your track Runa!
Runa captures a particular state of mind, focusing on simplicity and what is essential. The piece revolves around a repetitive left-hand riff and a simple melody. Recorded at home on a cold November day, it reflects the exact emotions I felt at that moment. As the first track created for the album, it set the tone for everything that followed.
