Today I’m presenting you with the track Tomorrow’s Dawn by the British composer and piano player Tom Squires, also known as rhubiqs- Tom has been making music for over a decade and operates in the ambient, electronic and post-rock genres. He takes influence from life events, the natural world and inspirational artists.
The track Tomorrow’s Dawn was released as a single on the 8th of November, 2024 but will also be part of an upcoming album.
Tell us something about your track Tomorrow’s Dawn!
Most of the album (Aegis of Silence) is ambient & drone in style, ie. not piano-led. I wanted a piano piece to act as the midway point of the album; a break between the first and second halves. I also wanted something quite mournful and introspective with a lo-fi and human quality. I wrote it during the depths of winter which also influenced the aesthetics; it’s not a happy and vibrant song which is reflective of the time of year it was written. I didn’t want this song to be “over produced”, hence it is simply piano without any other accompanying sounds or instruments.
Thank you very much for this Tom!
