Today I’m presenting you with the track Hoja by the American composer and piano player Tristan Eckerson from Cincinnati. Tristan has played the piano for his entire live and has tried all kinds of musical genres from jazz to punk rock. Right now his main focus is contemporary classical solo piano music. He also has an active moniker in Purple Decades where he releases his mor ambient work.
The track Hoja was released as a single on the 26th of June, 2023.
Tell us something about your track Hoja!
“Hoja” is the second piece that I’ve composed that was inspired by the cover artwork, which was made by Ruslan Belik. The first was “Humo”, the Spanish word for smoke, and “Hoja” is the Spanish word for leaf. Both are taken as direct references to the cover art, and both are two syllable words, which was intentional. This type of minimalism is reflected in the simplicity of the compositions as well, which are sparse and ethereal in nature. So I wanted to connect all this together as an aesthetic, sort of like the “furniture music” of Satie.
Thank for this Tristan!
