Today I’m presenting you with the track Terrella by the Swedish composer and piano player Alex Zethson. Alex has worked as a freelance musician since 2009 and has played with a variety of bands and with many artists.
The track Terrella was released as a single on the 2nd of august, 2024, but will also be part of an upcoming album.
Tell us something about your track Terrella!
The song consists of two parts; one with a bass line that serves as the main melody, and the other with invoking triads in the right hand. The musical elements form a kind of polyrhythmic circles that drive the song forward. In the song, there are clear influences from Emahoy Tsegue Maryam Guebre and Abdullah Ibrahim. The tune was recorded and mixed to analogue tape during an afternoon in Joel Danell’s Piano Piano Studios in Stockholm.
