Today I’m presenting you with the track Timewalk by the American composer and piano player Paul Lenihan aka. Angel of Discord. Paul has been writing music since the age of four. He plays a variety of instruments; starting out with piano en dulcimer and later moved on to drums, guitar and bass as well as vocals.
The track Timewalk was released as part of the album 11 Sofi Piano Compositions which came out on the 23rd of July, 2023.
Tell us something about your track Timewalk!
This track was actually inspired by a piece of artwork by Amy Weber – I thought it was inspiring to imagine moving through time in such an abstract formless way, as if doing so takes a part of you physically… or spiritually… We all would love to travel time but would we if those were the consequences? I also thought of the piece as a feeling of timewalking just by reminiscing and remembering the past, being able to traverse those memories suddenly seemed so magical. This was the first solo piano track I’d recorded… I usually opted for darker and more experimental rock music and there was a really freeing element of simplifying down to keyboard and the wholesome sounds brought out different melodies than I usually opted for. I’m already 2 songs deep in recording a felt piano album to follow this up which I hope to release as soon as possible.
