Today I’m introducing you to the Canadian composer and piano player Shawn Kerr and the latest release Fluke! Shawn comes from the small town of Parry Sound but is now located in Toronto. Shawn has played different instruments since the age of seven. Most recently he fell back in love with the piano, which was his first instrument.
The track Fluke is released as a single but will also be available on the upcoming EP Blue Light late April of 2020.
Tell us something about your track Fluke!
Fluke is about opportunities. I had an intimate experience with a humpback whale while driving a zodiac along the Antarctic Peninsula. Sonically, I wanted to capture the calm of its motion as it swam by me with drifting piano. The whale felt like an opportunity and how I hope to approach such a thing. Be ready for the unexpected and be open enough let it move me.
