Today I’m presenting you with the track And Winter by the American composer and piano player Scott West aka. ÜUCE. Scott has been a musician all of his life under the influence by his father. Pianos has always been present in his life, but he didn’t start composing until about two years ago.
The track And Winter was released on the EP And Winter, Redrawn on the 1st of December, 2021.
Tell us something about your track And Winter!
I’ve always been pretty fond of winter; the snow, the holidays, etc. However, I understand that some people don’t feel the same way. The concept of Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.) is something that I’m very empathetic towards since I have several people in my life who deal with it. I felt that this year and last had probably really compounded the effects of it, especially with the social withdrawals that may have occurred for them.
The main theme for the song sort of “showed itself” one day at the piano, but it felt like it didn’t completely convey the idea of S.A.D.
I wrote a bit of a “hopeful” portion to encourage those listening there they do always have that hope, but ultimately ended back where I started because unfortunately, that’s just the way it is for some people; and I think it’s important to acknowledge that.
