Today I’m introducing you with the track Yearbook: August by the German composer and piano player Klinger. Klinger is based in Hamburg and has played the piano since an early age.
As a child I played the piano a lot – not what my teacher wanted me to play but whatever came to my mind in that moment, improvising for hours and hours.
Later he made a career as a keyboard player and producer. Last year he released his firs piano album.
The track Yearbook: August was released as a single on the 2nd of augusti, 2024.
Tell us something about your track August!
The idea is to compose one simple piano piece every month for the span of a full year. ‘Yearbook : August’ is the second piece in this series – so there are ten more to come. In my ‘Yearbook’ series I try to follow my intuition and not overthink things. A little like in my childhood days when I would just play whatever came into my mind in that specific moment in time. The idea is to create simple pieces like snapshots from my year. ‘Yearbook : August’ came out a little melancholic – maybe that´s because my mother sadly passed away in the weeks before I wrote it. But that´s just me trying to rationalize what I hear now. While writing it I didn´t aim for anything specific besides from letting the creative juices flow.
