Spotted: Fabio di Biase – Stay

Today I’m introducing you to the track Stay by the Italian composer and piano player Fabio di Biase from Foggia in the south of Italy. Fabio studied classical piano from the age of seven and went on to study jazz piano at the age of 25. He started writing his own music around 2017, and I have previously posted about one of them (found here!).

Stay is the title track from the EP with the very same name which came out on the 31st of may, 2020.

Tell us something about your track Stay!
This song was written during the lockdown period in Italy, and is inspired by a deep sense of solitude and melancholy. It happens to me sometimes to play piano and let myself go to free improvisation. In this way this song was born, and it was written so very quickly. A very repetitive phrase in E minor wants to represent the sad repetition of the days in this period of closure to the outside world.

Thank you for this Fabio!
