Today I’m presenting you with the track Evocations bu the Ukrainian composer and piano player GéNIA, now located in th UK. She has played the piano since the age of 4 and has given piano concerts all over the world. About ten years ago, GéNIA started to composer herself and now mainly performed with her own music!
The track Evocations is the first single from the forthcoming album, Exhale. It was released on the 9th of December, 2022.
Tell us something about your track Evocations!
Released especially for the holiday season, I am hoping that my audience will be able to take some time away from their busy schedule for themself, including attending to their physical, psychological and mental well-being, which will enable them to look inwards to re-examine their life. And if my music can offer listeners this special support, I will be more than happy to contribute to society in such a way.
I usually ask people on this blog for “maybe a funny anecdote from the recording” and I really want to include this part since GéNIA was so sincere about it. So here’s what GéNIA answered about a “funny anecdote”.
I cannot this about anything funny, as being born in the Ukraine, it is a very difficult year for many Ukrainians. My life has been split before the war (24 February 2022) and after the war.
Since the start of the war, I gave many concerts and organised the events in support of Ukraine and founded my own charity ’Support Kharkiv Foundation’ which helps the citizens of Kharkiv and its regions, the city where I am from. This is the city where I was born. https://www.kharkivfoundation.org
This track summarises my mood and the mood of many others, for whom it was a very difficult year. As I said above, it is design to repose and take a stock on one’s life.
Thank you GéNIA for your answers and for sharing them with us!
