Today I’m introducing you to the Italian composer, piano player and sound designer Gianluca Piacenza. Gianluca started playing the piano at the age of six and after two years of playing he began yo study study classical piano and composition at the conservatory in his hometown. Besides playing classical music Gianluca is also very interested in electronic music, synthesizers and sequencers.
The track Far from You was released as a single on the 11th of February, 2022, but will also be part of an EP.
Tell us something about your track Far from You!
This song was inspired by the finding of an old tape cassette of me improvising at the piano when I was only 15 years old recorded secretly by my mother. Listening to that forgotten tape literally gave me goose bumps as this beautiful yet simple melody made all my memories come back and inspired this new emotional, melancholic and intimate version.Recorded with vintage mics very close to the piano on a special modified Petrof upright to obtain a very warm and mellow sound.
