Today I’m presenting you with the track Nead by the German composer and piano player Henning Schmiedt born and based in Berlin.
The track Near was released as a single on the 2nd of September, 2022, but is also part of the album Piano Miniatures.
Tell us something about your track Near!
Near to be as close as possible, to be completely immersed in the game, and to look at and design everything from above simultaneously is my ideal when playing the piano, and it is in this spirit I created my album Piano Miniatures. When playing the relaxed piano pieces, I felt like I was back in my childhood, how I made trees, horses, small locomotives, mini castles, and entire miniature cities from building blocks.
I usually record early in the mornings, when my mind is still open and blank. Sometimes late to catch the breath and athmosphere of the night.
It wasn’t a conscious decision but I had a nostalgic feeling while I was playing. It was close to the time of my childhood, and I realized that my mind was going back in time.
So I decided to dedicate “piano miniatures” to the places of my childhood in Erzgebirge mountains.
I felt like I was back in my childhood. I was back to the games of that time, how I made trees, horses, small locomotives, mini castles, and entire miniature cities from building blocks, a warm and nostalgic feeling.
