Today Iim introducing you to the composer and piano player Birgir Thorisson and his project Lonely Lighthouse. Birgir comes from Iceland and started playing the piano when he was about 7 years old. After a couple of years without playing the piano between 14-16 he started missing the piano and took up his piano studies. He is classical trained but claims not to be a classical player.
The track Memory Land was released as a single on the 14th of may, 2021.
Tell us something about your track Memory Lane!
The music I write is mostly written in a kind of improvisation and train of thought state of mind and Memory Lane is definitely in that category. I sat down one evening and was thinking about old friendships and started playing some chords. That’s how the intro came to life. The middle section actually came from me thinking about my old dog playing in our backyard.. funny how some memories can spark some inspiration.
