Spotted: Mikael Oterhals – Eskil

Today I’m introducing you to the Swedish composer and piano player Mikael Oterhals, located in Stockholm. Mikael has played the piano since the age of seven, when his parents gave him a small keyboard as a Christmas gift. He later went on to study classical music, jazz music and composition. He started making his own music about three years ago.

The track Eskil is featured on the EP Association Vol. 1, which came out on January 21st of 2021. The EP contains four piano pieces, dedicated to four different persons, explaining why each song title is a name.

Tell us something about your track Eskil!
Eskil is the last track on my latest release ’Association Vol. 1’. It was written in autumn 2020 when a good friend of mine came to visit me over the weekend. His name is Eskil and one night we sat down and had a jam session, me on the piano and him on the guitar. We had so much fun and the feeling I had from that night resulted in one of the musical themes of the track ”Eskil”.

Thank you very much Mikael!
