Today I’m introducing you with another track by the British composer and piano player Simeon Walker, called Seasons. Simeon is based in Leeds and has played the piano for over 20 years.
Sometimes music can be very overcomplicated, and I’m keen to explore how we can slow down just a little bit from the busyness of our modern lives, and be present in the moment a little more.
The solo piano version of the track Seasons is taken from the album Winnow which was released on the 14th of December, 2022.
Tell us something about your track Seasons!
This piece is ever so slightly more flowing and expressive than the original, which featured a string quartet. There is a sense of freedom and looseness that flows from the semi-improvised nature of the performance, whilst staying true to the general melodic and harmonic template of the original. For the video, we took a small upright piano to my favourite beach on the East Coast of England, and also had a drone, which enable us to capture some incredible footage of the natural landscape there.
