Spotted: Voga – Static Motion

For the long introduction of Owen Vaga and his alias Voga, I recommend you to read the Behind the piano post about him! And for the short introduction; Owen is a composer from Canada. Recently he has worked together with the Sonder house label as well as with composers Alaskan tapes and Bedroom.

The track Static Motion is released on the album Static Motion which came out yesterday (October 18th).

Tell us something about the track Static Motion!
Static Motion refers to the cyclical nature of my music – slowly shifting towards something but often ending in the same place. It also describes my love for dualities and contrasts. I like to blend clean studio production with the grit of a field recording or a piano played in my city apartment. And even literal static. There’s an appeal, especially for younger composers, I believe, in creating beauty out of everyday places and objects – things that require ingenuity in place of a large budget. I wrote this album to celebrate those ideas and what had drawn me towards composition in the first place.

Thank you for this Owen!
