Today I’m presenting you with another track by the Finnish composer Heikki Hallanoro. The track is called Soul Song no. 28. Heikki comes from the very north of Finland, close to the arctic circle.
These Soul Songs lifted me from fatal depression. I play over 100 years old piano. This heartfelt piano is like a mother elephant who remembers too many graveyards. Soul Songs offer me a safe place and I hope that it does the same for the listener.
The track Soul Song no. 28 was released as a single on the 12th of September, 2025.
Tell us something about your track Soul Song No. 28!
Soul Song No. 28 was added to this ‘autumn album’ over one and half years after original album recording sessions in May 2023. Soul Song No. 28 ”first light’ was recorded in January 2025 and it changes the whole album and the trilogy as well. Its working title ‘first light’ tells a lot. It’s a tender awakening to something new — a moment where the world bears you like a secret song and soul is clothed in the crimson and gold of fall.
