Spotted: Marc-Andre Pepin – Valse de l’ennui

Today I’m presenting you to the track Valse de l’ennui by the Canadian composer and piano player Marc-Andre Pepin. Marc-Andre started playing the piano at the age of eight and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in music from Université de Montréal.

The track Valse de l’ennui was released on the album Hibernation on the 13th of November, 2020.

Tell us something about your track Valse de l’ennui!
Valse de l’ennui means « Boredom Waltz ». This track comes from the album Hibernation composed during the pandemic. Hibernation is a metaphor for the experience we had in the past few months particularly during the confinement. It was a time of seclusion and waiting. The tracks in the album reflect emotions or feelings we experienced during this period and one of them is boredom. From there came the idea to write a « Boredom Waltz » that would express this sentiment without being « boring » ;-).

Thanks Marc-Andre!
