Spotted: Yoshiki Tagashira – Rainy Town

Today I’m presenting you with a brand new track by the Japanese composer and piano player Yoshiki Tagashira.

Born in Onomichi, a scenic coastal town in Japan, Yoshiki Taganshira now lives in the countryside of Chiba Prefecture, where he spends much of his time immersed in nature and cultivating rice in his own paddies. Deeply inspired by the ancient Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, his music explores themes of pilgrimage, tranquility, the natural world, and the passage of time. These influences can be heard throughout Rainy Town, a reflective and atmospheric piece that captures the quiet beauty of rural life and the contemplative rhythms of nature.

The track Rainy Town was released as a single on the 12th of june, 2026.

Tell us something about your track Rainy Town!
This song was composed based on my experience during my journey along the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route, when I was caught in the rain in Owase, a town known for its frequent rainfall. I had to interrupt my journey and wander through the rainy town.
